Latifa Pouye

Painter

Born in 1975 in Dakar, she grew up in Central Africa and then France, and rediscovered Senegal at the age of twenty. Self-taught, she began her artistic career in 2003. Patron of an association in Switzerland, she works in art therapy and leads the “Art of letting go” workshop at Artcanes.

Approach and materials

An intuitive painting in vivid colours, playing on contrasts between warm and cool tones: expressive abstract portraits, abstract landscapes, intertwined faces. She believes in the power of art to inspire, educate and bring people together.
