Visual artist · Also known as Mariza
Visual artist based in Senegal, also known as Mariza. An art education teacher, she leads visual arts workshops. Her first solo show, Délou, was presented in 2024 at the Maurice Gueye Cultural Centre of the Sococim Foundation in Rufisque.
Approach and materials
Her research centres on African symbols, especially Adinkra signs, seen as carriers of memory and transmission. She works in acrylic, pastel and collage, bringing identity, environment, memory and the future into dialogue.
